Cause of Severe Migraines Revealed

May 23, 2016
Francene Cartaar

Albert Einstein proved that ‘everything is energy’.

Serge Benhayon took this one step further by stating that, ‘then everything is because of energy’.

The implications of this profound addition asks one to consider that all situations in life: all turmoils, triumphs, illnesses and diseases have their root cause in energy. Since 1999 Serge Benhayon has presented and written extensively on qualifying the type of energy that can be chosen and the true meaning of Energetic Responsibility: two topics of great benefit to humanity and worthy of further exploration than space allows here. Through this understanding Serge Benhayon has supported hundreds with serious ailments and illnesses, people who, in addition to conventional medical care, have sought support and understanding for their sometimes intractable conditions. Serge Benhayon does not offer a ‘cure’, but the understanding of the underlying energetic cause of the circumstances that an individual finds himself or herself. The potential for true healing, possible as a result of accurately dealing with the underlying energetic root cause of any ailment and illness, is profound beyond measure.

Here is one such recount.

Most females in my family suffered from severe migraines and I experienced my own first migraine at around the age of 14. There was no pain at the start just a distortion in my vision, but then about 30 minutes later the pain started. They continued into my 20’s and 30’s but mostly they were manageable and infrequent.

In September 2001, one month after turning 40 and one month after coming out of an extremely stressful business situation, I started to suffer migraines of a severity that I had never experienced before. There was no visual distortion, just strong pain in my head and/or eyes. This confused me as these migraines were different to what I had previously experienced. I told myself it was because of the demands and stresses I faced over the previous 18 months and hence began my search for a ‘cure’.

For the next 9 years I visited many, many different health professionals, placing myself on their table with the mindset of ‘here I am, fix me’. I often joked that every healthcare provider in the area had a client card with my name on it.

The various professionals I consulted included:

  • GP, including undertaking a CT scan
  • Holistic GP
  • Compounding Pharmacist
  • Naturopath
  • Osteopath
  • Chinese herbalist including acupuncture
  • Ayurvedic practitioner
  • Attended a well known women’s doctor and author

I also explored such things as:

  • Naturopathic massages
  • Various forms of yoga including breathing and mediation exercises
  • Bioidentical hormones
  • Vitamin B12 injections
  • Various supplements
  • Anything I could read on the internet regarding migraines
  • Changing my diet

At one point I was prescribed medication which did reduce the pain of the migraine but left my feet feeling numb for 3 days afterwards and so I discontinued this. I also found myself in hospital for the first time when I could no longer cope with the pain and was on an intravenous drip painkiller – effectively to switch my brain off. The pain persisted and I lived on strong painkillers to get by. The migraines were frequent and would last for up to 4 days.

During this time I was working full-time and functioning, somehow, in a constant state of pain, confusion and lethargy. I was taking painkillers that would upset my stomach and herbal treatments that would cause rashes. I dreaded each day in case there was another migraine or the migraine from the day before continuing. I lost all sense of light heartedness and my children later referred to this as ‘the dark times’ as I was irritable, withdrawn, in constant pain and really not much fun to be with.

I ultimately took 2 years off work but still experienced migraines.

In my search for a ‘fix’ I heard of Universal Medicine and attended one of the talks presented by Serge Benhayon on a Friday night. What he spoke of intrigued me. So in 2010 I booked an appointment to see Serge and as he had a long waiting list it took 9 months for my appointment to come around.

From the moment I entered his clinic room it felt different to any other health practitioner I had visited. There was an easy calmness about Serge. I explained that I was suffering migraines and gave some brief detail.

Serge offered that resentment and frustration was behind the migraines.

I listened intently as this was explained further to me and it was at this moment that ‘the penny dropped’. We discussed the situations in which I had felt these emotions. It all started to make sense particularly as the word ‘resentment’ had been coming into my thoughts in certain situations.

I was given a brief Esoteric Massage that was exceptionally gentle and caring to conclude the session and left his clinic with an explanation, feeling confident and ‘relieved’ that I had finally found a practitioner that could help me. Despite his substantial waiting list Serge said he would contact me for another appointment and he did shortly thereafter.

Since those two appointments I have seen various Universal Medicine practitioners (as trained by Serge Benhayon)  and also participated in classes and courses offered by Universal Medicine. Each has assisted me with becoming more connected to my body and also understanding and observing when frustration and resentment would creep into my thoughts. Gradually, over a period of time, the migraines lessened. Today I am free of migraines. What was really fabulous was that I no longer felt that I was placing myself on a practitioner’s table with the mindset to ‘fix me’. I could see that I had played a part in the migraines and now this provided me with confidence that the migraines could be reduced.

Today at the age of 54 I feel better than I did in my 40’s. Now I realise how much the migraines were keeping me away from myself as I was in constant reaction to the pain. The two appointments with Serge provided a natural catalyst to understand and unlock the root cause of the migraines I was experiencing.

I am immensely grateful to have been able to do this after so many years of suffering and thinking that I should just resign myself to them because of my family history. It is amazing to feel my fun self again and not dread each day. I am relishing a return to the lighthearted and loving way and taking this to all my relationships with family, friends and work colleagues instead of withdrawing.

To describe the magnitude of what Serge Benhayon has offered me is: Freedom.

Reacting to pain would for most be an unquestionable part of human life. Of course we react to pain! it’s unwanted in most circumstances! But what I have learnt over the years is that it’s a message, a very loud one, that can be worked with and understood to bring about deeper healing. Pain is not something to run away from or bludgeon.

Chronic pain is a real issue for many people and so to hear a story like this and the simplicity of how powerful and effective it is when we take responsibility for our own health is very refreshening and heartening to hear.

  • Reply Alexis Stewart January 7, 2019 at 1:03 pm

Our lives are in our own hands, like a potter throwing clay onto a wheel, we have the freedom to create pretty much what we want. But we don’t create by way of large spaced out grand decision making, on the contrary we create through the small moment by moment choices that we make in our everyday lives.

  • Reply Caroline Francis January 5, 2019 at 4:25 pm

Unless we make the connection between illness and disease and how we respond to life then we do not heal. What is more we perpetuate and carry on living in the same ill-momentum that can lead to further complications. When we are open and accept that our conditions are created by our choices we no doubt find the answers to our ailments. It is taking responsibility for everything that happens to us.

  • Reply Rebecca January 3, 2019 at 6:14 pm

Francine, thank you for sharing your experience of migraines and how it is by looking deeper and taking responsibility for our behaviours that we can begin to heal.

  • Reply Golnaz Shariatzadeh December 3, 2018 at 7:13 pm

I am currently in the middle a condition which involves periodic bouts of extreme pain. Yet the instances of feeling sorry for myself or being resentful is few and far in between, and more recently I am even learning how to remain tender as opposed to how I used to harden up in order to avoid feeling the pain. This is all remarkable compared to the contrast of what they would have been prior to the inspiration of Benhayon in deepening my understanding and responsibility around all my experiences in life.

  • Reply Golnaz Shariatzadeh December 2, 2018 at 6:22 pm

Understanding our part in our predicament, what that means in terms of how we live and how we can support ourselves going forward is in itself a huge part of our healing.

  • Reply Golnaz Shariatzadeh November 9, 2018 at 2:21 am

It is so true that yes we do say that “we want the world to change”, yet when the push comes to shove, as soon as we are asked to start with an awareness of our own personal responsibility, most people seem to run for cover. Ironic since the world which we want to change is in its current state precisely because of such a response to awareness and responsibility.

Never had a migrane but certainly held onto depression for a while, and that one was great to let go of, with the massive support from those around me.

Francene, by medical standards, an unexplained and profound change in your health and wellbeing has come about. How important the marriage of western medicine and energy medicine – bringing an understanding that every illness and disease state begins with our unhealed hurts and the emotions we carry to keep them hidden. A true testimony to the works of Serge Benhayon and the teachings he so willingly shares with all who are ready to listen.

  • Reply Caroline Francis October 19, 2018 at 2:48 pm

When we are presented with a root cause as in this case resentment and frustration we are offered a catalyst for great change, in fact a miracle in the making. What led to the illness and disease we now are equipped to heal and let go of those choices that were harming and unsupportive to our health and well being.

  • Reply Viktoria October 17, 2018 at 2:44 pm

To discover the root of all our illness and disease is something science and modern religion are still struggling to do. Yet, as presented by Serge Benhayon, it is so simple, so evident and so easy to access – just let our body communicate.

  • Reply Golnaz Shariatzadeh September 7, 2018 at 11:05 pm

It is so freeing and empowering to gain an understanding of the way we ourselves have contributed to our issues in life, and with that start to sense how we are also capable of seeding the necessary change.

    • Reply Alexis Stewart January 7, 2019 at 1:06 pm

We are funnelling energy all of the time, what we have to question is which of the two types of energy are we choosing to funnel. One is a type of energy that will support us to heal and the other is detrimental to our health.

  • Reply HM September 1, 2018 at 2:26 am

If something ‘run in the family’ it can be easy to just think that we can’t change it. But what is shared here is the breaking of a cycle of choices – the re-imprinting of something that has been in the family for years and now you are reflecting that we are not victims to this, but that if we want to truly cut a cycle – we can.

  • Reply Chan Ly August 31, 2018 at 8:30 am

Amazing blog Francene, what you’ve shared is super supportive. There are may people who suffer from migraine and may not understand why they get it and that in itself can be frustrating which can add to their symptom. Your transformation is incredible Francene and you are showing us what is possible when we are open to take responsibility and allow our body to heal.

  • Reply Monica August 9, 2018 at 3:30 pm

Understanding is huge, and having the understanding of how energy leads to our physical ailments and how our steps and movements contribute is hugely empowering. Few offer this, which is what makes Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine unique – the understanding of energy is offered not as a panacea or solution but with a knowing that you are more than any ailment that may occur and that you’re not broken, but have in you a gloriousness, an essence that is untouched no matter what, and with that bedrock we can address anything we may have taken on which is not us. It is indeed freedom to be gifted with these understandings.

“I could see that I had played a part in the migraines and now this provided me with confidence that the migraines could be reduced.” When we are given the energetic truth of our problem, it is like a light bulb goes on and we are offered a choice to look deeper at how we are contributing to the situation.

    • Reply Golnaz Shariatzadeh September 29, 2018 at 3:58 pm

Of course we always want a quick fix to alleviate the discomfort that we feel, but what is often not provided is the understanding about our own part in it. It is a real gift to be supported to see “the energetic truth of our problem”. This is such a key part of dealing with and healing any issue, and the deepening awareness also has significant impact on how we are in the rest of our lives.

  • Reply Viktoria July 25, 2018 at 6:01 am

Just a few words can unlock a deep level of understanding. Serge Benhayon is amazing at that, he knows exactly what to say to the person in front of him to support a deeper understanding of their condition and thus bring a choice to the fore – continue your life the way it has been up until now, or change it.

  • Reply Leigh Matson July 22, 2018 at 3:34 pm

Reactions, emotions and pain do keep us locked away from who we truly are. Light-hearted, warm, playful and so much more! Thank God for Serge Benhayon for presenting the way to unlock ourselves from such restrictions.

  • Reply Annelies van Haastrecht June 27, 2018 at 7:36 pm

‘Now I realise how much the migraines were keeping me away from myself as I was in constant reaction to the pain.’ Since I am a student of the livingness, I experience when I have an occasional (severe) headache that when I don’t go in reaction to the pain it is causing, it doesn’t have so much effect on me as it is not defining me and as a result it doesn’t get worse as it did in the past. Treating myself with love and care, truly feeling what my body asks from me is what I do and most of the times, the headache gets less and less to eventually disappear. Afterwards I feel much lighter and more in my body as a result of the clearing that has taken place through the headache.

“I could see that I had played a part in the migraines and now this provided me with confidence that the migraines could be reduced.”

Once we get honest and see that we contribute to the problem, it does bring a freedom because we can then realise that we can be part of the solution.

    • Reply Chan Ly August 31, 2018 at 8:36 am

Exactly Sarah, very well said and it can feel very empowering to know how much we, in fact, contribute to life, to how we feel and what happens to us. It leaves no room for blame or helplessness but calls us to step up and take responsibility for our choices.

  • Reply Christoph Schnelle June 7, 2018 at 5:00 am

I find that many people have severe ailments that they are quite desperate to receive relief from but don’t know who to turn to. If this is a useful way to look at the issue and gives pointers on how to deal with the issue, that could be a boon for many millions of people in the world.

  • Reply Golnaz Shariatzadeh May 27, 2018 at 6:14 am

There is nothing more empowering than being supported to connect to your own understanding of the lesson about love, expression and responsibility in whatever issue you are facing and the awareness that you are never a victim and in fact you are the one that has everything within you to start addressing the situation.

I know many people, colleagues, friends, relatives, who have headaches, and migraines and seek medical treatment, and whilst medicine is truly amazing – and I too would seek support when I need to, many of those I have spoken to about headaches and migraines have many tests and a cause is never found – and they are left suffering with these headaches and migraines for decades. This blog blows this wide open, as it says there is another way.

    • Reply Golnaz Shariatzadeh May 27, 2018 at 7:50 pm

Even when the symptom is sorted out (e.g. I recently had a surgery that resolved the deterioration that was causing me a lot of pain) it is very beneficial, and I would go as far saying vital, to be supported to also gain an understanding of your own part in bringing on the situation. Without that understanding and making the necessary changes, the ill pattern will continue, so you are just buying time until it resurfaces in one symptom or another.

  • Reply Jane April 10, 2018 at 9:40 pm

How amazing the body is that it is giving us these love letters all the time – e.g. migraines, so that we can realise that something in the way we are living is not working. Whilst it can feel uncomfortable at times, Id far rather my body showed me e.g. with a headache or something, than to feel numbed from the truth of the way I am living.

  • Reply Jane April 9, 2018 at 5:32 pm

Stunning and much needed first hand account of migraine, which is often perceived as ‘normal’ in the busy intense world we live in, yet, it is not normal – far from it. Brilliant that you found the truth/root of the migraine, and that you are now migraine free. Migraines – it really doesn’t have to be that way.

    • Reply Christoph Schnelle June 7, 2018 at 5:01 am

That is very true. Severe pain is not normal even though – if it can’t be treated at the moment – it has to be treated as normal as the question arises “what else could be done?”.

  • Reply Michael Goodhart April 7, 2018 at 1:25 am

The fact that no other medical approach worked for Francene’s chronic migraines until she was provided with the underlying energetic cause proves how if we continue to think we can get by with just stopping the symptoms of a given illness or disease without feeling what is the emotional basis of it, there can only be a temporary cure but no true long lasting healing.

    • Reply Alexis Stewart June 29, 2019 at 4:51 pm

We all need to start to use to our illnesses, diseases and conditions as stepping stones back to where and what we’ve all left behind. Not that it’s actually possible to leave anything behind because everything is with us always but we can scramble our understanding and connection with things like truth and love to such an extent that we are no longer able to feel them. Illness, disease, inflammation, ailments and conditions of any kind are simply symptoms of us not living in a way that we are designed to live, therefore they can be used as signposts as to where and how we have gone astray.

  • Reply julie Matson April 3, 2018 at 4:00 pm

Serge Benhayon has a ginormous track record of offering the simple energetic truth of a situation to anyone who is ready to hear it. Having the root of the issue exposed is the greatest blessing and healing.

    • Reply Golnaz Shariatzadeh September 10, 2018 at 1:08 pm

Although it is great to rid ourself of debilitating symptoms, the fact is that our reaction to and distress around the symptoms tend to rise because we can feel the underlying ill choices and dynamics that have led to them even when we choose to block our awareness of it. Just ridding ourself of the symptom is like coating foundation over a spot. On the surface all is fine, but the real issue is still carrying on underneath. Yes “Having the root of the issue exposed is the greatest blessing” and in fact a necessary part of a true healing.

  • Reply Nicola Lessing March 30, 2018 at 3:47 pm

Yes there is a huge freedom and it is incredibly empowering when we realise that nothing happens for no reason and that we are responsible for all that happens to us.

  • Reply HM March 29, 2018 at 6:36 am

Wow – it shows the power of energy – and also of our bodies communicating so honestly about where we are at. We don’t allow our bodies to do the talking enough – knowing that it is not about getting medicine to fix things all the time but also understanding what is behind a symptom – what is it our bodies are trying to say? And are we listening?

  • Reply Joseph Barker March 20, 2018 at 8:50 am

We go to Serge Benhayon asking him to fix up a speck but he presents us with the universe instead. This might seem absurd but it’s precisely this way we have of reducing life down that causes us difficulties in the first place. So Serge’s treatment offers us everything in one go. How beautiful is that! Thank you Francene.

No more ducking out for you to manage the pain of your migraines.

  • Reply Viktoria March 12, 2018 at 2:05 am

Often when we get headaches, we feel like it gives us an excuse to be horrible to people – “leave me alone, I have a headache”; “not right now, I have a headache”; “why are you annoying me, can’t you see I have a headache” are all phrases in our everyday. Yet, they’re also cues, perhaps we’re not mean to people because we have a migraine, but we have a migraine because we’re mean to people …

  • Reply Chan Ly March 10, 2018 at 6:00 am

Wow, amazing story Francene. What is also incredibly amazing is that you feel better than you did when you were in your 40’s. This is pretty much unheard of because it is so common in our society that people generally tend to feel worse as they age, but you are clearly showing us that there is a way to nurture and look after ourselves that supports us to feel great no matter what age we are.

  • Reply Elaine Arthey March 8, 2018 at 9:04 am

A penny dropped for me Francene as I read your blog. I used to have severe migraines that would see me in bed for 3 days at a time or struggling through whatever with a lot of pain. I can see more clearly now how resentment had its part to play in these episodes. Instead of honouring myself within the situation or honouring myself and moving away I would often think it was my lot in life, there was a duty to fulfil, that I was not good enough and had to somehow do better. I could then also blame the situation and /or myself and others, usually myself. I would get frustrated and resentful. I was resentful of the fact that others could not see things as I did, could not take responsibility for their part. I haven’t had a migraine for a long time but it is good to see how remnants of these same ways of reacting remain and how they can play out in life and distract us when we are not honouring of ourselves.

  • Reply Lieke Campbell March 5, 2018 at 5:10 pm

We are taught that diseases run in the family and quickly we think we cannot change anything because it is something in our body that makes it happen as our whole family had it too! Yet what you are sharing here is that it is the way of living that causes the illness and it could well be that we take over the way of living from our family and that is why many illnesses run in the family. It also shows we can heal it by changing the way we live and this gives so much freedom and empowerment as it does not feel like we are at the mercy of our family/situation anymore.

    • Reply Chan Ly March 10, 2018 at 6:12 am

Very true Like. Francene’s story is a brilliant example of how we choose to live our life can either be the cause of our illness and disease or our medicine. When people refer to illness or disease that runs in their family, there tends to be an acceptance that there is nothing they can do about their situation and this can feel very disempowering. But Francene has shown us how she healed in a way that truly empowers her and she healed on a much deeper level that addressed the root cause and was no longer just treating the symptoms.

It is the all to end the all of .. suffering, struggle, worry, contraction, indulgence etc. “The potential for true healing, possible as a result of accurately dealing with the underlying energetic root cause of any ailment and illness, is profound beyond measure.” Each of us through the true healing are a miracle upon miracle – we begin to walk with ourselves again growing more and more into acceptance that we are ok, more than ok. Serge’s wisdom comes from the power of connection through his divinely body “the vehicle of expression”. A livingness developed that supports another to also heal as it is taught under the auspice of the Ageless Wisdom.

A truly remarkable turnaround Francene that really drives home the truth for us that no one can heal us, we heal ourselves by virtue of taking responsibility for the energetic root cause of the problem at hand. A true ‘healer’ is one that knows and lives by such truth and can therefore get themselves out of the way, so as to act as a catalyst in our healing process. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

What an incredible turn around Francine in which you illustrate how empowering it to take responsibility for our health and well-being and accept the truth shared by our bodies of how we are living impact our lives greatly, in which the choice is always ours to make changes. That is the gold offered through the presentations and modalities of Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon, understanding how our emotions affect us and empowering us to be aware of what quality we are choosing to live our lives, whilst working alongside modern medicine to support us to truly heal.

Migraines are so debilitating, something that I’ve lived with a lot over the years. Participating in the workshops presented by Serge Benhayon and discovering re-connecting to me by being present in my body offered a great shift to the point they stopped. I’ll still get a headache from time to time but know I’m fully aware and responsible for the fact that my body is telling me that something has triggered me to let go of my connection to me and wind up extra mental activity to deal with something.

  • Reply HM December 13, 2017 at 6:52 am

Wow what a healing this is. Thank you for sharing the pattern and how there is an energy behind it for us to look at. Universal Medicine continues to help so many people look at what is behind the symptoms of the body – and interestingly, we put a lot of conditions down to ‘running in the family’ when really, at any point, a family member can look into why it is happening and truly heal a pattern.

Understanding our body and what it is saying to us is deeply beautiful. We realise our body is not out to get us or punish us, but it is telling us what is going on with us, our choices, are not reflecting the deep love that we are.

You have had a healing that you are 100% part of – that is very cool! I love the fact that when Serge explained why the migraines were there are you were able to see and understand more about your history and choices you were then able to build a different environment around yourself which would slowly support you to rebuild your body without the resentment and bitterness as part of that ‘normal’.

    • Reply Meg December 2, 2017 at 6:49 pm

Yeah absolutely – often with illnesses the information we receive is only a temporary fix but you could call this a true life change.

The understanding that at the root cause of illness there is disharmony within the body is something that complements our medical systems in an as yet untold way. The wisdom of Serge Benhayon in this area is unprecedented and something of great value to the world.

  • Reply Michael Goodhart November 21, 2017 at 12:41 pm

Knowing many people who suffer from intense migraines and how debilitating they can be, I can understand why you tried so many different approaches to cure them Francene. But as Serge Benhayon has taught so accurately, there is a huge difference between a cure (or a fix) and a healing, and understanding that the migraines come from a foundation of frustration and resentment obviously was the underlying cause which lead to the deeper healing you experienced. The other aspect of this story that I found interesting is how many times we will go to all kinds of different specialist to find a solution to a medical problem and they will many times have a method to deal with the illness or disease, but never really offer that type of foundational cause for it as Serge Benhayon has done countless times for thousands of people. When the methods of modern allopathic medicine and Universal Medicine combine in harmony we will have one powerful approach to true healing in the future.

So many people seek relief from pains, by going out there looking for a fix. The fact that we are part of the root cause of any disease is perhaps a big step to take, but if we do, the only genuine way to heal it.

  • Reply Melinda Knights November 3, 2017 at 7:47 pm

Francene thank you for sharing your story, migraines are so debilitating so for you to actually be free of them now due to the support of Esoteric Medicine via Serge is fantastic. And the understanding here of how emotion has an effect on the body is also very powerful, the body is showing us that emotion actually doesn’t belong, that it disrupts the harmony of the body and can lead to pain, illness and disease. What Serge simply provided was the missing element, then healing could occur by you making the changes

“I no longer felt that I was placing myself on a practitioner’s table with the mindset to ‘fix me’. I could see that I had played a part in the migraines and now this provided me with confidence that the migraines could be reduced. ” When we feel and know we can do our part in healing physical symptoms it does feels as freedom, we are no longer at the mercy of the professionals but are active and responsible for how we handle our illness and live our life.

Another inspirational example of the healing that is possible, even for a very long-term condition, when we are able to discover the root cause of the issue. Conventional medicine is amazing but it simply offers a cure, meaning that the issue may arise again as what is behind it has gone untreated. With the wisdom presented by Serge Benhayon I too have been able to “unlock the root cause” of several very long term and painful conditions, conditions that I had expected to live with for the rest of my life, and as a result they are finally healed.

By understanding that it was created by ourselves in the choices we have made, it removes the feeling of helplessness and despair that so often accompanies any chronic or acute condition. For in that understanding we realise that if it is our choices that got us into this mess it’s our choices that will get us out.

However looking back, I can agree that resentment played a big part in causing the migraines.

As a nurse, it made so much sense when I came to Universal Medicine and it was shared that there is an energetic root cause to illness and disease. Working with patients I could see similar patterns amongst clients with certain conditions which were never explained by medicine. Our functional understanding of illness just doesn’t go deep enough and allows us to not take responsibility for whatever illness we have running in our bodies.

Thank you Francene for sharing yet another amazing story of someone who was resigned to live with the debilitating effects of pain and discomfort only to now be pain free, feeling wonderful and enjoying life to the full. There are so many accounts like this of people who have attended healing sessions and workshops with Serge Benhayon who have slowly begun to heal longstanding conditions in their bodies, often with the most necessary and encouraged support of Western Medicine. As one who also has a similar amazing healing story to tell it shows so clearly that illness, disease and pain have a starting point within the body and to offer the body the chance to heal itself the most self-loving choice we can make.

Me too Lieke. I suffered very badly from them and no-one on the outside would have said I was resentful or bitter because I am innately a very joyful person, but underneath I was so frustrated, irritated and clearly resentful and bitter that this joy was not reflected by society. Rather, the reflection I saw was one of war, greed, selfishness, corruption – the list goes on! Since dealing with my own issues, I have found so many pockets of joy and people who reflect that to me in all sorts of areas of my life – and no more migraines!!

To be migraine free and drug free after so many years of illness is an extra-ordinary achievement. This is another powerful example of the inter-relationship between every part of the human body: disharmony in one part, always a reflection of something mis-aligned or unresolved somewhere else. Universal medicine is whole body medicine with client actively participating in their own return to health and balance, if they choose to do so.

Having migraines for that long must have been a complete nightmare for you. I could really feel in your writing that when you had an appointment with Serge Benhayon you were both there together to heal this equally, meaning you did not have the ‘fix me’ attitude and I know from knowing Serge that he would have held the space in the room for you to be equal in your own healing and from it to come from you. It just goes to show when we know the true cause of something and are willing to heal this how it does, if the Soul permits, heal.

Serge Benhayon will never offer a quick fix for in truth that would not be true healing, instead he offers us the chance to see how we created our illness and discomforts, this is far more empowering as it allows us to really learn from our mistakes and to move on and evolve.

It is so very powerful when we realise that we have played a part in any circumstance that we may find ourselves, as in this moment we realise that we also play a part in that situation changing, and the power is again ours to claim and make the changes needed, as situations, illnesses etc can only fully heal when we bring to them the humbleness of owing it not as an act of God, but as a choice we made.

  • Reply Sarah Flenley June 1, 2017 at 4:34 am

“I could see that I had played a part in the migraines and now this provided me with confidence that the migraines could be reduced.” This is one of the many gems that are in presentations by Serge Benhayon, Universal Medicine and its practitioners – that we all play a part in everything. It puts a halt on the ‘blame game’ and encourages us to look at what our part is in a situation, and from there start healing it, or nominating it and/or letting it go. From there miracles can happen as your testimony clearly shows.

There is no room for stories that lead us back to the cycle of despair, blame etc. Just the simplicity offered to let go of the way we are living that is no truly supporting the body and how it actively and truly engages with a deep and resonant quality. Thank you Francene for sharing that there is not ‘fix it’ button or method but the responsibility of the individual to bring out what is not supporting or loving.

    • Reply leigh matson June 25, 2017 at 1:56 pm

I am finding that too, it’s the reaction and how we relate to the illness that makes us ill and not the state of health/condition we find ourselves with. Reacting doesn’t allow us the space to care for our bodies in order for it to heal as it is completely capable of if supported.

Until I come to an energetic understanding of a situation, health condition I remain stuck in my relationship to what is before me. This stuckness builds a tension within me that leads to more ill health or ill situations. As energy is never static as soon as I understand the energy the relationship, the situation and/or the health condition also shifts and clears.

Yet from experience, when we read the reason why we get ill it empowers us in the healing process. In fact in the case of some conditions acknowledging the ill behaviour can in itself cause an energetic shift in our body. This can be dismissed as not possible, but perhaps what we ought to admit is that we as a human race haven’t yet fully grasped the energetic outplays that are beyond our current logical reasoning.

Thank you so much for your article Francene , there must be millions of people who suffer from migraines yet like you and me, are led to believe there is no other solution to them other than to resign ourselves to this crippling condition. I too tried many different therapies to get rid of them. What is so poignant in your article here is that is only took two sessions with Serge Benhayon to begin the turn the situation around, because the real resolution lies within us, not in someone else’s hands. Serge Benhayon always hands the power of healing back to us, immediately and without question. (Whether we are prepared to take it or not is another matter.) These days if the sizzling light show begins, (which is rare) then it is definitely time to take stock and examine where my frustrations lie. Thankfully though, years of studying with Universal Medicine and applying these ancient, wise teachings to my life have taken the crippling sting out of them and I can appreciate them for the real message they are – stop, take stock, let go and chill out.

What Serge Benhayon knows about how the body actually works is quite remarkable and should be studied by science. Considering how much it costs for countries with people being ill it would be a healthy investment looking into it.

When I read these testimonials my thinking goes that doctors would do everything to get their hands on how Serge works. I would guess that so many people come to their doctor wanting them to fix the problem or at least give them an explanation of what is going on in their bodies.

Francene thank you for sharing your story and experience, So often we are told to and have to simply live with ailments etc. but seldom are we actually told and thus given the choice to take responsibility for what has happened to us because of the way we have been living. By taking responsibility for our lives we can then make different more loving and supportive choices and then the ill consequences are no longer there. Otherwise it is as if we think we can keep repeating the same thing and expect a different outcome – it is crazy when we look at it like that.

No-one else has presented on the fact that “Everything is Energy” and further expanded this by saying that “then everything is because of energy” apart from Serge Benhayon. Francene’s story is a classic example of the healing the readings and works of Serge Benhayon bring to people through his understanding of energy and the energetic root cause of illness and disease. Without this support Francene may have never healed and understood the root cause and her part in the creation of this disease. I know a number of people who live a life of taking days off work, going to the doctors and living off painkillers due to migraines. This story is a clear example that there is another way and that we can heal.

I recall when I was offering complementary treatments before coming across Universal Medicine, I portrayed a persona of “I know better” & “fixing my clients”, as did many other practitioners & specialists. None of that with Serge Benhayon & Universal Medicine trained practitioners – simply offering support as equals for us to heal, deepen our awareness and expand our responsibility in life – freedom and empowerment.

Identifying the energetic root cause for something and then addressing it with Esoteric and Western Medicine, where necessary, is the greatest form of medicine there is.

“What was really fabulous was that I no longer felt that I was placing myself on a practitioner’s table with the mindset to ‘fix me’. I could see that I had played a part in the migraines and now this provided me with confidence that the migraines could be reduced. ” This is true healing – realising that how we are is a result of how we have been choosing to live and that is for us to take responsibility for our own healing with the aid of the appropriate support it whatever form that may take.

“The potential for true healing, possible as a result of accurately dealing with the underlying energetic root cause of any ailment and illness, is profound beyond measure.” This is so true and when this is generally accepted, not only within the medical profession but within society in general, it will be a paradigm shift on a par with the acceptance that the world is round and not flat.

Thank you for sharing your story and confirming how Serge Benhayon not only gave you the answer but supported you with the healing modalities that he teaches. This man has the answers and it is high time we pay attention to what he has to say. From personal experience of attending Universal Medicine presentations, Serge Benhayon has never said he offers a cure for anything. What he does offer, is the opportunity to understand the root cause of all disease and illness, by knowing that the true cause is always energetic, as we are energy first and foremost.

‘Everything is because of energy’ by the daily choices of the QUALITY of the energy we choose to live in – that which is the truth of love or the lesser form of love.
“Serge Benhayon does not offer a ‘cure’, but the understanding of the underlying energetic cause of the circumstances that an individual finds himself or herself.”

What a powerful realisation and understanding of how the quality of energy behind your migraines was something that was binding you to a self-made prison of limitation simply from living in reaction. “Now I realise how much the migraines were keeping me away from myself as I was in constant reaction to the pain”.

Taking responsibility for our part in the cause for why we end up in the states of health we find ourselves in is one of the biggest supports to Humanity that Serge Benhayon has shared. This factor alone is being proven again and again by the student body and science. That to support our medical systems we need to care for ourselves deeply so. This is so true ‘Serge Benhayon does not offer a ‘cure’, but the understanding of the underlying energetic cause of the circumstances that an individual finds himself or herself.’ We need to know and understand the underlying energetic cause for all illnesses and dis-ease only then can we truly start to heal if we are willing to take responsibility for how we live. With what you share here we can see ‘health’ isn’t just about diet or exercise but ill beliefs, ideals, patterns and emotions we are living and holding onto.

What you present here is huge for medicine. There is a general irresponsibility that we all are a part of that when something goes wrong with our bodies, we want medicine to take it away, without any accountability on our part. What I have come to understand for myself is that there is a big difference between relief and healing. The difference is taking responsibility for the way we are living, for how we live is our best medicine.

Miracle is the only word that springs to mind. I am so touched that you have a new lease on life, it’s the best gift you can receive to truly heal something that you have carried for that long, what a blessing.

Hi Francene – there were a group of words that stood out for me and provided the key to healing. ‘I could see that I had played a part in the migraines……….’ In this moment, as it would be with any of us, it brought a release and shift from choosing to be a victim in life to true empowerment. How often do we as a society hand over our lives to unseen forces and the direction of others and then blame everyone else for the outcome? The world we live in, the life we live, the health we experience are all of our choosing. This article is evidence of how claiming our role and right to choose can change everything.

A remarkable healing really, to dissolve the migraines through lifestyle choices is a miracle, a miracle of our own choosing. Imagine taking every health complaint we ever suffered from and asking honestly and humbly how it came to pass, what our own role was in creating it, and what momentum we need to stop to bring about a change. After all, no-one would want to suffer the discomfort of migraines so it is worthwhile considering most deeply what is here written.

    • Reply Andrew Mooney August 17, 2016 at 3:51 pm

Great point you make here Stephen – a miracle of our own choosing. We tend to view miracles as things that others do for us i.e being ‘cured’ by someone else. What if a true miracle was due to us becoming aware of an energy that we are choosing that is harming our bodies and then realising that we can choose otherwise and committing to that?

Francene thank you. I can relate well to your story, I too had severe migraines for about 12 years that lasted days at a time. Like you, I tried so many avenues to fix them. Serge Benhayon’s teachings helped me to completely stop them by taking responsibility and looking at how I was reacting to life through frustration, resentment and rage. Dealing with these emotions and learning to live life differently was the answer. Freedom… I totally agree. What Serge Benhayon brings by his own way of living and teachings offers huge transformations to take place for people. No fixing, just truth, lovingly put.

This is the amazing thing about Serge Benhayon, he does not offer you a quick fix but asks you to take responsibility for your choices. Whilst that is not always easy and not everyone’s cup of tea, it is immensely self-empowering and allows oneself to remove the root causes of whatever ailment one is suffering.

As a migraine sufferer myself starting as a child at a catholic boarding school into my life onwards I too began to understand what was going on at the times they came and my life as a result of meeting Serge Benhayon and this has also changed my life. Through true healing I no longer suffer Migraines and they have become a thing of the past something I would never have thought possible. Taking responsibility for one’s life and with understanding and true care and learning to be the love we are makes so much difference and allows a true healing and change to the lives of myself and many many others. Thank you for your honest sharing Francene.

    Francene,
This article is the epitome of self responsibility, and how understanding again brings that responsibility to the fore for each of us to claim and live by.

What I’ve realised is that it all starts with us and it all ends with us, we can’t blame others or things outside of us, we can only look at how we have been with events and people, how we react or respond and how we are with ourselves. This support Serge Benhayon delivers is empowering always and that’s because it is always delivered with love and in respect of the choices we have made. He always, in my experience and observation, see’s everyone for who they truly are and the choices around where they are at now. Pandering in our world is a dis-ease and illness in itself… yes the person might get some form of momentary relief but the real reason and issue lays dormant ready to raise its incessant head again until we see and heal it.

    • Reply Jo Elmer October 22, 2016 at 1:44 am

Yes, Aimee, I also have found that the huge difference in how Serge supports people to make positive & lasting changes is the absence of pandering to what we ‘want to hear’ and going truth-fully to what it is we are doing that is causing the disharmony.

No one else in all my “searches” to find help asked me to take full responsibility for how I had been living that contributed to my unhappiness… I did not want to go there… but eventually I started to want the Whole Truth; this is when I found Serge and The Ancient Teachings he brings through.

I have learned to look at all the ways I have been reacting to the world and I am choosing not to indulge in that but to focus more on appreciating and sharing who I really am. As a result I now have a much more honest, balanced and loving relationship with myself and in turn with everyone and everything else.

When asking for advice from Serge or other Universal Medicine practitioners the support has always been directed inwardly, empowering what is already within me and asking to look at my part played in the situation. This has supported my life far more than the blaming and the ‘fix it for me’ attitude that was so strong and hangs around occasionally. However today the more I start to look at my part in a situation the more it heals quicker.

This blog should be written in the sky for all to see. It sums up so much of what Serge Benhayon offers society. He offers us to get down to what is really going on and look at what part of it, is our responsibility. And to be honest, most of it is our responsibility. What a great story and I love that Serge Benhayon, Universal Medicine and the practitioners are supporting people to experience what true freedom is. And you know what, it involves a fair level of responsibility. Yep. True Story.

The subtle yet very powerful shift in our understanding of what causes our bodily aches and pains is profoundly freeing, as you describe Francene. It is amazing when I reflect back on different times in my life, doing the rounds consulting anyone and everyone looking for ‘the fix’ when all along it came back to me and how I was living with myself. Serge’s teachings ask us only to look honestly at our situations, and the power of truth reveals the long sought after answers.

Offering the inspiration and space for people to “only to look honestly at our situations“ and to learn to trust and honour our innate wisdom is one of the most profound support we can ever offer another.

‘Freedom’ is a word I was using to describe how my life is now to a friend. I feel free from many things including the traps of drink, drugs and smoking. Free because there is nothing in my body that comes close to being tempted by them which some years ago couldn’t have been further from the truth.

  • Reply Mary-Lou Reed July 5, 2016 at 1:16 am

Knowing that we have a responsibility for our own health is key to healing. As you experienced, being on the table with a ‘fix me’ attitude, we are giving our power away. Only by taking responsibility ourselves can we feel empowered to bring changes to our lives and how we live and feel in our bodies.

My experience has been similar to yours Francine, experiencing severe migraines from childhood and until I began seeing Universal Medicine practitioners about eight years ago. Understanding and accepting that I was responsible for the frustration and reaction to the pain, how I made my body the enemy, how every thought affects my health and well-being as well as my relationships, has led to me making wiser and more loving choices. Letting go of a need for sympathy was another step which came in a moment of realisation one day, and this was another load off my back. Gradually and in my own time I am empowered to make choices about food, rest, exercise, work projects, healing and my relationship with myself and my purpose that are transformative. I am forever deeply appreciative of the inspiring life and work of Serge Benhayon.

I have had severe migraines too, started with regular headaches when I was young and ended with migraines every week a few days in a row. Knowing the root cause through sessions and attending the courses of Universal Medicine inspired me to make changes in how I was with myself and with others, never anyone to blame. Choosing to be responsible for what ever was going on in my life. Your remark about letting go of a need for sympathy stayed with me, especially ‘ a need’. I know going in sympathy is not true, nevertheless sympathy has been big in my life and still it is there now and then but with reading your comment I feel I should ask myself, do I have a need for sympathy? I will feel into it and come back to this .

Super article Francine! I can vouch for every word you have written. I too suffered from migraines especially between the ages of 45-55. When I was around 60 years old, I attended a presentation by Serge Benhayon in which the root cause of migraines was revealed. It made a lot of sense to me. That night I had a migraine to beat all migraines but I just kept aware of what was causing it. I knew at about 8am in the morning that that was the last migraine I would ever have as I knew how I had to lead my life in order to heal it. That indeed was the last migraine I ever had, 8 years ago now! Serge Benhayon is indeed a man of deep wisdom who intimately knows how energy works and he has shared with the world how to unfold this innate capacity within ourselves. Just brilliant.
